Uncharted:Drakes Forutne follows the story of Nate Drake, a treause hunter trying to track down the treasure his ancestor, Frances Drake, found.
The game takes you through some of the best designed sets and some of the most breathtaking sights I have seen in a game so far. The attention to detail is second to none, and you with cutscenes so well done, it really feels like you actually watching a movie.
Game play is based around the Tomb Raider style of play, so you’ll be mixing between completing puzzles and taking on the mercinaries of your enemy.
Despite the great promise this game has, it does seem like the developers put all their efforts into how the game looked and all the effects rather than the actual story. There is infact, very few puzzles to work our, and theres always only one path to take, with it being pretty obvious what you have to do.
Theres also alot of shooting, maybe a bit too much for the story, and on easy mode, you won’t really be dieing that often.
The story line could have been developed alot more, and for me, the game is just that bit to basic in this area to really stand up against the likes of Call Of Duty 4, which for me, has one of the best story lines.
In conclusion, Uncharted gets a 7 out of 10. The developers, Naughty Dog, really have set a standard when it comes to the cinematic play, and shows just what the PS3 is capable of, but the story line just isn’t there to back it up. Well worth picking up as preowned, or when it drops in price a bit.
